Ballet Classes!

Among the beach, Haiti, and YoungLife, DANCE is a huge passion of mine! After dancing for 15 years it was incredibly difficult to go from 4 days a week of classes to zero! Today, in Haiti, that is changing!

I have started 2 ballet and 2 jazz/hip-hop classes every week! It is so fun to be able to dance again and even better to pass it on to the kids! They love it!

It is such an amazing feeling to come back home to Mission of Hope and the first thing you hear are awesome and almost unbelievable stories about Hope Village kids leading at VBS!!! Seriously, breathtaking!

This summer, MOH is running VBS for kids from surrounding communities in July and August. It is being run by young leaders in the church, the summer interns, some teams people, and some legit Hope Village kids!

Today, I got the chance to go down the hill and see them in action. I walked into the church and was floored by the amount of kids I saw in front of me... it had to be over 500 kids, ages 2-12! Wow!

Galaxon was holding a baby and telling a little kid to sit down. Dounie quickly passed out snacks to her group. Mackenlove helped walk his group out the door to their next activity. Jean Marc lead a game up front. Welby organized kids for a volleyball game. Jeanson played the drums for worship. Mansado played the piano. Sophonie and Lumain pushed little kids on the swings.

If you have had the pleasure to know some of these kids... you may be shocked or think that I meant to write another name. Well, I am pleasantly shocked as well. Giving a kid some responsibility, direction, and attention can be such a great thing. Today was a beautiful picture of God's love and guidance for these kids. They are visibly taking ownership of their home and family here, at Mission of Hope. It is such a satisfying thing to see!
